While there may be a government shutdown looming, it doesn’t mean we cannot continue to enjoy the wonderful resources from NIH (National Institutes of Health) and NLM (National Library of Medicine). Plus a bonus, NIH launched a sleek new website design (thanks @eagledawg for alerting us to the new page!). I really enjoy the NLM announcement and page on NLM’s 175th anniversary. The page has some great historical information.

And if you are worried the threat of a government shutdown will prevent you from viewing this sleek new website, fear not! Medlibs (@krafty, @eagledawg, @ericrumsey, @pat_devine, and others) have calmed our fears by letting us know PubMed and Docline will still be available. There will not be any staff on duty to help
No updates or changes will be done if there is a government shutdown– glad NIH released the new website in time! So your big weekend plans of perusing PubMed and MedlinePlus do not have to be canceled… oh wait that was my plans. In all seriousness, I am glad that despite the possible government shutdown we will still have access to quality health information online.
