“Call before you drown”
The above is the advice I received from a fellow medical librarian 2 weeks after starting in my first library position. It was comforting advice, especially since as a solo I was… and still am barely managing to stay afloat on most days.
I have found the medical library field, even though we are small, to be very welcoming and open to newbies. I appreciate all of the advice and assistance over the last 2.5 years.
Since it is National Medical Librarian Month,
I wanted to take this moment to say a BIG
to everyone who has ever provided advice or helped me. For fear of leaving anyone out and for lack of space, I say thank you to all.
